Vintage Redhead High Color Sweet Sue Sophisticate Toni Doll

This listing is for a lovely 20” Sweet Sue Sophisticate Toni doll made by American Character in 1957. This striking redhead comes with her original bridal gown, but prefers a green outfit to complement her hair. Her green street length cotton dress features a boat neckline, white accents, green bow, deep ” V” back, and matching pillbox hat. This outfit is an original ensemble of the vintage Candy Fashion doll. Sweet Sue also wears her original taffeta panties, green nylon hose and vintage white high heel shoes with red base. Her green outfit is in fine condition with no flaws noted.
Sweet Sue’s original bridal ensemble includes a white satin gown with ruffled nylon tulle ruching at the neck, sleeve, skirt, and hem. Also included is her hooped taffeta petticoat, and ruffled half cap with two layers of nylon veil.
There is a small seam separation of the bodice and skirt under the left sleeve of the gown, and there are several holes in the bottom layer of the nylon veil. The wire in the taffeta petticoat is warped, and there is some discoloration on the binding holding the wire at the hem. Please refer to the pictures to see these flaws.

doll is in excellent condition. She is made of heavy vinyl, is marked on her lower back, has a swivel waist and jointed head,arms and legs. This lovely doll has a high color face, blue sleep eyes with full lashes, and shiny rooted red hair. She does not have pierced ears, but there is a tiny pinprick in front of each ear which is hidden by her hair.Please refer to the photos.
This lovely Sweet Sue Sophisticate Toni doll has been displayed in the smoke-free home of an adult collector. This auction is for the doll and her two outfits; the dress form and doll stand are not included.
