Much of the original high gloss finish remains. There is plating missing from the lid. The pry top is in excellent working order. There is a nearly complete tax stamp and a complete union stamp.

    This rare 1920s  "Pipe Major" litho pry top 8 oz tobacco tin, measuring 4 1/2" x 4 1/4", is in very good condition with no dents or rust and some very minor age related paint scratches.  Much of the original high gloss finish remains.  There is plating missing from the lid.  The pry top is in excellent working order.  There is a nearly complete tax stamp and a complete union stamp.   This very attractive camel brown tin features the polychromatic "Pipe Major" tobacco brand trademark image of two Scottish men wearing kilts.  The "Major" is seated in an easy chair while the his attendant is serving the "Major" his pipe and tobacco on a tray.  "Pipe Major" tobacco was an english smoking blend which was considered very high quality.  The tobacco was manufactured by the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, Louisville, KY in Factory 21, District, KY.
