    Description

    A photograph of the Place Vendome Column started in 1806 on orders from Napoleon. Completed in 1810 it commemorated his victory at Austerlitz and was created from cannons captured in the battle. The column contains 425 spiraling bas-relief bronze plates and is crowned with the figure of Napoleon.
