    Description

    He’s poised with his hands in traditional stick position. His epaulets, buttons, and belt buckle are tinted gold. His strap and belt are tinted red. His jacket is blue. Oh, and there’s the white and red plume on his hat! All against a painted backdrop.
    No photographer’s mark.
    SIZE. Approximately 8 1/8 x 4 inches.
    CONDITION. Photo: Some foxing at upper left. Tiny spots and specks. Some blue from the jacket is streaked on his pants. Scuffing is apparent when tilted. Mount: Wear at corners, especially lower left. Soiling and a bit of foxing, front and back.
    APPEARANCE. Very good tones. Wonderful coloring. Beautiful lighting on his face. His hands and the sticks are slightly out of focus, creating a sense of movement as he strikes the drum.
