    Description

For sale, the November 12, 1941 issue of California Oil World and Petroleum Industry magazine supplement. The feature article is, A Contribution To California Oil and Gas History, written by Walter Stalder. 92 page magazine, filled with black and white photos and many pages of industry related advertisements. Of note, the article by Stalder contains 5 lithographs that were made between 1855 and 1861 by the U.S. Pacific Railroad Expedition and Survey. All 5 lithographs appear to be in very good condition to this untrained eye. All, except for the map, measure 9 3/16" long by 6 1/4" high. The original lithographs were colored by hand. The lithographs are,
Plain Between Kah-Wee-Ya and Kings River
    Rounded Hills Tertiary
Entrance of the Tejon Pass and A Portion of the Tejon
Mammoth Tree "Beauty of the Forest"
    California Geologic fold-out map
