Description

Original 1950s photo album from China or Taiwan. A young college ( high school ? ) aged Chinese girl is seen repeatedly throughout the album and I think it once belonged to her. The photos depicting life at college or possibly a high school with athletic events attended by politicians or dignitaries. One such photo depicts a group of dignitaries attending a ceremony, the men wearing suits and ribbons with a musician playing a trumpet. One photo depicts a smiling young lady training with a rifle ( photo is captioned on reverse), another depicts what might be a soldier seated in front of a Victor radio ( transmitter ) with a large amount of equipment, country and city outings, scenes from people's country homes. A number of the photos measuring 6" x 4 1/2" appear to be from a university and these have captions within the photo itself. I removed a few photos to look for hand written captions and some photos do have such information. I did not remove all the photos to look for captions. These photos are not glued down to the pages and can be easily removed. The last photo in the album is an 8" x 10" depicting Chinese and American or European men and women and is captioned in both Chinese and English. The English reads ' September 12, 1964 Dr. and Mrs. Bossing '. The album contains 219 photos with a range of sizes from 1 15/16" x 1 1/8" to 6" x 4 1/2" and one 8" x 10" photo
. The album was manufactured by the Holston Company of Wilton, Conn. and has a page in English explaining how to use the album. The front and back covers are green, front cover reads ' Photographs ' in English. The album measures 13" x 10 1/2" and roughly 1" inch thick. I have uploaded all the photos in the album for your viewing. Will be well packed and shipped priority mail medium flat rate within the US and eBay international shipping for buyers outside the US.
