1880s Large Albumen Photograph ST. SEBASTIAN Guido Reni Painting Gay interest

Description

Original antique large-format albumen photo of the version of Guido Reni's painting of Saint Sebastian currently at the Musei Capitolini in Rome, circa 1880s, the image measuring approx. 10" x 7-5/8" on the original card mount measuring 17" x 14", the reverse with period ink inscription reading "No. 86, St. Sebastian, original and best painting at Genoa." A bit of light soiling and edge wear to mount (the image completely unaffected), and subtle warping to board (easily flattened in mat and/or frame), otherwise near fine, attractive condition overall, the image free of any external blemishes, the emulsion remaining smooth and free of crazing or degradation.
