Very rare large antique photo of a small group of select soldiers in the band of the 14th U.S. Infantry who fought in China (Boxer Rebellion) immediately after the Spanish American War. Caption below reads: Band 14th U.S. Infantry Manila, P.I. Dated 1900 and signed by the photographer Rahmeyer. Photo belonged to the owner on the back. Sgt. George F. Gammons; who fought in the Spanish American War in 1898 and went on to fight in the Boxer Rebellion.He lived through both and came home to his wife and son. His body is interred somewhere in California. Measures 13 1/2 by 16 1/2 with border. Sight size (photo alone) is 13 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches In very good condition some loss to the dark frame border along the very edge.
